Fusing/Slumping Project Class – Intermediate level

This 2-day project class is a natural second part to the Intro to Fusing course or for the fuser who has some experience and wants to learn multi-layer fusing and slumping. This class will be taught by accomplished glass artist Justin Sanchez. Project design and materials need to be purchased ahead of time prior to the day of class.

  • Prior to class…pick from one of the many projects designs we are offering (see photos below) and get materials
  • During 1st class…cut and learn how to layout the project and build the design
  • Question and Answer period for all technical aspects of fusing/slumping
  • Rainbow Staff will fuse the projects after the 1st class is completed
  • During 2nd class…will learn how to coat the slumping molds
  • Class discussion on all the fused projects by students fielding questions and comments
  • Place fused projects in kiln on the chosen molds by each student
  • Private Glass Blowing Demo by staff
  • Rainbow Staff will slump the projects after 2nd class is complete
  • Pick-up projects in approx 3 – 5 days after

 

1st Class Date: Saturday, October 24, 2015
Where: The New Hot Spot @ Rainbow Art Glass’ Warehouses
Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Fee: $69.95 total per student for both days (includes all hand tools needed, but not glass – must be purchased separate)
Age Minimum: 14 years old and up
What to bring: Glass for your project and your creativity!

 

2nd Class Date: Saturday, October 31, 2015
Time: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Fee: included in above cost
