Intermediate Bracelet Workshop
This hands-on workshop will incorporate two glass techniques…Fusing and Beadmaking to make beautiful dichroic bracelets. This course will be taught over two days at the Hot Spot classroom and just in time for the holidays!
This is an Intermediate Level Workshop meaning the students must have the basic knowledge of glass cutting skill to attend. You do not have be an expert, but just some experience in glass cutting. Accomplished artist, Justin Sanchez, will teach fusing techniques while incorporating beadmaking to make these unique finished pieces of jewelry.
Part 1:
Date: Saturday, March 1st, 2014
Time: 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Fee: $89.99 per student (includes working supplies and refreshments)
Age Minimum: 16 years old and up
What to bring: Your creativity!
- How to design this particular bracelet
- Cutting glass
- Making torch-worked glass beads
- Working with Moretti glass rods from Murano, Italy
Part 2:
Date: Saturday, March 8th, 2014
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Fee: All included with your fee for Part 1
- Preparing fused tiles and beads for assembly – cold work and cleaning
- Actually assembling finished piece by learning how to size, string, and chain the bracelet
Notes:
- Rainbow staff will anneal your beads and fuse your tiles in our kilns for use in Part 2
- Coffee and other drinks will be provided
