This course is a continuation of our Introduction to Copper Foil Panels Class. It incorporates the basic skills learned in the construction of small panels into constructing a larger 18″ x 24″ project. The cutting, grinding, foiling, and soldering skills learned will be expanded upon to construct a more complex panel. This course will be limited to 6 students only due to the area needed for the larger projects. All students must have experience to attend. The class will not be teaching basic skills or techniques. Part 1 – Discussion, Design, and Cutting  (4 hours) 

  • Go over the techniques and tools that will be taught and used in making these larger panels

  • Pattern will be provided by Kate Grady

  • Cutting glass for panel

Part 2 – Grinding, Foiling, and Soldering  (4 hours)

  • Use grinders to smooth edges of glass to prepare copper foil adherence
  • Foiling glass pieces
  • Begin soldering

Part 3 – Finish Foiling, Soldering, and Frame  (4 hours)

  • Finish foiling last pieces (if not completed)

  • Finish soldering all pieces in project

  • Frame the outside border and patina solder if desired

Minimum age requirement: 16 years old
Cost per student: $199.95 (total for all 3 parts)

Part 1 – Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 – 10am–2pm

Part 2 – Saturday, December 10th, 2022 – 10am–2pm

Part 3 – Saturday, December 17th, 2022 – 10am–2pm

Cancellation Policy: Must cancel spot for class 7 days prior to the event for a full refund. If the spot is canceled 1-6 days before the event, you will receive a credit towards a future class. If cancelled less than 24 Hours before the event, it will be handled on a case by case basis.
