Intro. to Painting on Glass with Reusche Paints

This semi-private, 3-Day course will cover the basics of painting on glass and fusing in a kiln. Students will learn the same techniques that the European ecclesiastical artists of past generations brought over to North America and are still being used today by glass artists in our country. Reusche paints will be used exclusively by accomplished local glass artist Kate Grady during this hands-on workshop. Techniques that will be learned:

  • Process of laying out cartoons for painting SOLDIERedit
  • Methods of mixing mediums and paints
  • Applying the paint to sheet glass using specific brushes
  • Kiln firing techniques and procedures
  • Personal instructor advice for each student
  • Discussion and feedback on student’s topics and projects
  • Learn how to properly store your non-used materials
